A Massive Influx of Posts

My camera has been located at The Boy's parents house!
Going to pick it up tomorrow, and then... *shudder* a FLOOD of entries.
SO MUCH TO SHOW YOU GUYS.
I am a fashion addict.

Until tomorrow,
much love,

The Help

Recently, I won a competition on the lovely Danimezza's blog, and was sent a copy of The Help, a fantastic book by Kathryn Stockett, and 2 movie passes to see the film adaptation.
It is 6.19am where I live and I only put the book down to prepare dinner and to play with my dog, neither of which took more than an hour, since it arrived by Express Post at roughly 2.30pm yesterday.
I'm not going to go into a whole lot of depth, and I'm not going to give any spoilers, because I WANT YOU TO READ THIS BOOK. If you have spare time in your life at all, it will not be wasted by spending it on The Help.
It is uplifting, funny, heartbreaking, witty, and has a quiet strength that really took me by surprise. I was expecting it to be 'lighter' than it was, but then, I can't conceal how moving I found it when it wasn't.
The book won't be everyones cup of tea, and some will find it more touching than others, and surely some will find it hard to read in places and possibly not bother. That is literature for you, your mileage may vary.

All I know is that I just skipped an entire night of sleep for a book I just didn't want to put down, and I'm not one bit sorry that I did it.

All opinions are my own and in no way influenced by the book or film passes I received, I won them in a competition completely unrelated to my blog and noone has asked me to review either.

Hello!

Hi general blogosphere, it's me again!
Not that anyone is reading, and I don't blame you all! What a terrible time to lose my camera, in the midst of launching myself a blog. I have a sneaking suspicion it is at my fellow's parents house, which is just dandy considering they are on holidays. They get home tomorrow and then I can finally find out if I have left it there - if not, it could be anywhere. I have the kind of house people could break into and I wouldn't notice for weeks unless they disturbed my wardrobe.

I'm not quite sure what I expected when I started following peoples blogs and commenting on their posts, but nothing has happened at all. Actually, a lie. One blogger has followed me back. It feels sort of disorienting, because noone even replies to my comments. I'm not as cynical as I sound, I'm trying to be realistic and am still hopeful of this whole life-changing experience other bloggers think their blogs have been. I'm just painfully new, and as a shy small-town girl with all kinds of anxiety and whatnot, it can be difficult to know what to post or what to say, even online. All the world is a stage; and muggins here gets stage fright.
Some sneaky previews of more clothes I'll be getting soon!
This adorable skirt by ASOS Curve! I just couldn't resist it!
Also, the picture is bigger because I love it more!

I post a lot of ASOS because it is my main shop at the moment; I'm not in any way affiliated with ASOS! I just can't look past cute clothes with free shipping, living in Australia. The Australian fashion market doesn't really have a lot going on for me.

Those of you with blogs (self contradiction here even asking); how do you promote yourself/how do you get people to read?

And a footnote:

Oh Gosh What Work To Do

Wow.
Well, even though I have no readers as of yet, I'm going to be photographing and posting the things that I buy - clothes, accessories, and little lovelies and treasures...  but it seems I'm more addicted than I thought.
In addition to a couple of swimsuits from ASOS I can't wait to find the courage to post, I just received a GIANT box from Urban Outfitters (living in Australia there is no point ordering from there unless you're going to order big, $30 flat rate shipping, eeek!) and ANOTHER parcel of dresses from ASOS! I am waiting on playsuits, boots, skirts, a blouse, hair accessories, a jewellery rack and some other bits and bobs from ASOS; socks and a luggage bag from Dorothy Perkins... and thats all just this fortnight. I dread to think what next fortnight will look like!

I was going to post some pictures from a trip I took to a local Japanese garden with my lovely fellow, but my camera and SD card seem to have gone wandering, which is really a pain at a time like this with so much to photograph and a blog to launch! I had 3 OOTD photos on there as a sort of cheat so I could have easy posts to pad out the blog while I organised the rest.

Just so I'm not dealing with massive blocks of text, I've interspersed pictures of my most recent order from ASOS, which I am desperately waiting for!!
[I am unsure about such a big boot, but I'm feeling brave... I want to wear it with pretty floral dresses!]

Well, until my camera turns up, [or I get really bored]
much love,

The Mandatory Introductory Post

Hello all!
I'm Emma, a 22 year old Australian girl.
I fancy myself a little bit British, a little bit artistic, and a little bit posh. Also quite a nerd, quite tall - quite large in general - and totally and utterly ADDICTED to fashion, Disney, Sanrio, and vintage everything.
I've been lurking in the plus size fashion blogging community for a while and it has really helped me find myself, find some awesome clothes, and find the confidence to start my own blog! You girls are fantastic and I have been just dying to get involved!
I hope you'll stick around, and we can get to know each other a bit better as time goes on. In the meantime, why don't you link your blog, if you have one, or tell me something about yourself? I promise I will read everything, I have more free time than I know what to do with!

What is your favourite way to spend time at home?
